AUSTRALIAN Conservation Foundation members have mounted a small protest against the proposed $1.3 billion Toondah Harbour residential development.
A spokesperson said that despite being limited by COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, the ACF Bayside branch had 10 people protesting at the intersection of Redland Bay Road and Moreton Bay Road on the weekend.
The group's aim was to get people to voice their opposition to the project with their local member of Parliament.
"This and other roadside actions are being used to increase public awareness of the group's concerns with the proposed Toondah Harbour housing project," the spokesperson said.
"The bayside group will be having similar events on October 11, November 8 and November 22."
The proposal is to rebuild Toondah Harbour, with a marina, shops, restaurants and about 3600 units.
People opposing the project say it is too big, it will create transport issues through Cleveland and that dredging for the harbour will damage the Ramsar-listed Moreton Bay Marine Park and migratory bird species.
Both major parties support the Toondah proposal.
