SOUTH-EAST Queensland residents should keep an eye on the radar this afternoon and evening, with the Weather Bureau predicting a chance of storms for the region.
Redlands, Logan and the Scenic Rim are all in the predicted firing line but may not receive much rain.
There is just a 30 per cent chance of falls at Logan and Redlands and a 40 per cent chance at Beaudesert.
Weather Bureau satellite imagery has reveled an upper trough approaching from the west which may help storm development this afternoon and evening.
It comes after parts of NSW metro woke to heavy falls this morning.
The bayside got an early taste of storm season last week, with a bout of thunder, lightning and a brief downpour hitting the area late on Friday night.
Overall, September was a relatively dry month for most of the south-east. Just 7mm fell at Redlands and 17.9mm at Logan.
It was worse at Beaudesert, where not a drop was recorded for the entire month.
That could be about to change, with the Weather Bureau yesterday upgrading its La Nina watch from alert to active.
It means the south-east could be in for a wetter than normal spring and summer.
