CLEVELAND students cheered when they received the news that they were allowed to dance at their year end formal.
Cleveland District State High School students flocked to the school hall last Friday after Queensland Health eased COVID-19 restrictions allowing larger groups to hit the dancefloor at weddings and formals.
Prior to the announcement students would be mostly confined to their tables.
Year 12 Assistant Dean Victoria Sadleir said the dance was celebrated in style.
"About 10am on Friday morning, I started to receive some very excited emails from students asking whether they would get to dance. Fortunately, the school has talented teachers and with some small adjustments, a dance floor space was provided and music selected to ensure everyone could have the opportunity to cut loose on the dance floor," she said.
