PARTS of the Redlands were left without power when a storm swept across south-east Queensland on Sunday afternoon.
Several homes in Alex Hills, Macleay Island and Thornlands were still without power on Monday morning, a total of 194 Energex customers are currently affected.
Heavy rain, lightning and destructive winds battered the area with some residents reporting hail. More than 30,000 homes and businesses were left in the dark.
About 80,000 lightning strikes were recorded across the region from midday on Sunday to 4pm.
High winds and flying debris brought down 207 powerlines across the south-east. Powerlines were also down in the Russell, Lamb and Macleay Islands.
Overnight, crews restored the bulk of customers in and around Redland Bay and in the southern suburbs, with 16,000 customers resupplied since midnight.
