COOLNWYNPIN State School has an established position in the community for wide representation of the arts.
Students at the school benefit from specialist arts lessons covering dance, drama, music, visual and media arts.
With a focus and passion for providing education for the whole child, it's no surprise that local author/illustrator team Hannah Munster and Kelly Reidy chose to launch their new book at the Coolnwynpin Book Week parade last Friday.
My Earth is the second book in the My Family series of books by the duo that explores what the earth provides for humans and how it is used for health and happiness.
"Our students read, explored and discussed the illustrations and text from their first book My Mum in term two.
"They connected with the warmly written text and were in awe of the illustrations. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to share another great example of where the arts and education can take our students," said teacher Lisa Rose.
Author Kelly Reidy has been in love with books, words and creative pursuits since she was a young girl.
Kelly and her family value health, wellbeing and sustainability in their lives. You will often find her making delicious healthy meals and treats, practicing yoga or learning something new. Inspiration is found everywhere, such as in the words of her children, friends, nature and everyday life.
Illustrator Hannah Munster is the owner and artist of Munster Design and Print, with an impressive 20 years marketing and design experience. She has won multiple design awards for her creativity and illustration.
The book is available online and in local bookstores.
