THE global pandemic has changed that most wonderful Christmas tradition - the Santa photo.
Whether you are on the naughty list or the nice list, COVID-19 means there's no sitting on the jolly man's lap.
Local shopping centres and photographers have had to get creative and are offering unique COVID-19 safe snaps.
Jennifer Horner has been doing festive season photo sessions in Cleveland for eight years and said parents jumped at the chance to celebrate Christmas after such a disrupted year.
This year, Ms Horner launched the option to add Santa digitally to abide by social distancing requirements.
"I sold out my sessions within an hour of releasing them - it went really well," she said.
Santa is back at Victoria Point Shopping Centre but with some COVID safe changes.
Children can visit Santa's Workshop, located outside the centre where the jolly bearded man will greet families from his Workshop Express train.
Keeping a safe distance, loved ones will be able to sit in a carriage behind Santa to capture their special Christmas memory for 2020.
Bookings are essential and limited and can be made by clicking here.
There will be no queuing for Santa photos at Capalaba Central, instead a SMS booking system has been set up.
The shopping centre has set up an enchanted tree and a magical mail machine. Children are invited to write a letter to Santa at the North Pole and post it in the mail machine.
A photographer is on hand to capture the unique memory and children can then exit through the enchanted tree.
There are currently 13 active COVID-19 cases in Queensland.
