A NEW op-shop has opened at Alexandra Hills just in time for the busy Christmas shopping period.
The Bush Oasis, located near Allenby Road, opened earlier this month and is looking for volunteers as the festive season approaches.
Open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9am and 4pm, the op-shop offers a range of second-hand items at low prices.
Manager Kaye Brennan said there had been a steady flow of customers since the first day of trade on November 3.
"We have some nice bright signs so people can find us easily, we have had a bit of word of mouth, we have Instagram and Facebook pages happening, so that helps as well," she said.
"We have been selling a lot of bric-a-brac items and also quite a lot of camping and outdoor gear coming up to the holidays.
"We are going to have weekly specials, and that will be ongoing."
Ms Brennan said the store had been inundated with donations, allowing them to organise a special treat for holiday shoppers.
"It has been amazing how much we have received," she said.
"We have got some new items that have been donated, so we are putting together a gift shop for Christmas.
"We are also offering gift wrapping with anything that is bought here."
The shop is working in conjunction with the Redlands Church of Christ and have a number of programs in the pipeline, including support for people in domestic violence situations.
People interested in volunteering can phone 0459 628 502 or email thebushoasis@gmail.com.
Donations are welcome through the blue bins at the front of the shop.
