CAPALABA musos, the SM2 team are back behind the mic and this time it is for an uplifting, summertime tune.
Sunshine Summer Blind is an original song written by Michael Quinn and Michael Stewart.
Mr Stewart said he wrote the lyrics, based on an original positive summer theme and produced the video clip.
The concept for the song came to Mr Stewart when he was thinking of his days visiting Greenmount, on the Gold Coast as a teenager in the 70s.
"Those memories encompassed the excessively hot Queensland summer days on my fair skin, but were contrasted by surf, sand, cool breezes and of course, the girls," he said.
The SM2 team loved the concept and brainstormed song ideas.
"The team feel that the song is something most people can relate to and the video really tells the story in a beautiful way. It captures the coastal magic of a simpler time through the eyes of a young man growing up in Queensland," Mr Stewart said.
Mr Quinn composed the music and arranged lyrical adaptations while Steve Brady engineered the song with his creative flair.
New to the team is James Morrison who plays the drums.
Mr Quinn then composed the music and handed it to Mr Morrison, who brought together an uplifting drumbeat, capturing the essence of the song.
"It is a really good song for the times as leave a difficult year behind and embrace love ones from all around this country this summer," Mr Stewart said.
