NEARLY 60 years after their graduation, a group of locals still gather to reminisce about their school days.
Members of the St Joseph's Nudgee College class of 1963 gathered last Friday at the Courthouse Restaurant to catch up and swap stories.
Organiser Col Owens said that year's Nudgee Old Boys included men from all walks of life, from army veterans to bankers to graziers.
The gathering included 16 people, with nine Old Boys and their friends and significant others.
"It's very special to catch up," he said.
Mr Owens said there had been about 75 people in the graduating class of 1963.
"The school has changed a lot since our day," Mr Owens said
"There was only about 300 in the whole school, now they've got (more than 1000)."
Mr Owens presented an artwork and a poem entitled Ode to Existence to the restaurant.
The list of Nudgee Old Boys includes Police Minister Mark Ryan, chemist Terry White, musician Pete Murray and cricketer Chris Lynn.
Actor Jacob Elordi, nuclear scientist John Boldeman, and six Olympians are also on the list.
Mr Owens said it was a wonderful school.
"Nudgee has made a name for itself over the years," he said.
