CLEAR skies and warm weather greeted car enthusiasts at the annual Bayside Vehicle Restorers Club show at Ormiston State School.
The club has celebrated the event for the past 20 years and this year a record number of vehicles drove up in style at the Australia Day show.
A total of 772 vehicles parked off and about 1500 people attended the show. Ninety clubs were represented with visitors coming from as far as Roma, Toowoomba, Ipswich, and the Gold Coast.
Club president Albert Budworth said it was the biggest event the club had hosted.
"I think it was popular because people haven't been able to get out and attend events and other motoring events and swaps were cancelled due to COVID restrictions... people were looking to somewhere to go," he said.
"With some events cancelled north of the river, we noticed more than a few 'newcomers' to Ormiston this year and hope they'll be back again in 2022."
Vehicles included those from the veteran, vintage and classic eras along with historic trucks, sports cars, motorbikes and a sprint car.
A six-piece band played throughout the morning with a complimentary breakfast served up.
The Brisbane Southside Morris Minor Club volunteers were also on hand selling cold drinks Profits from the sale went to Manly-based charity Bayside Sailability.
