A 20-year-old Dunwich man is due in court next month after blowing more than three times the legal alcohol limit on North Stradbroke Island.
The man, who had a passenger with him, was pulled over on East Coast Road about 11.20pm on Sunday and returned a reading of 0.157.
He will appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court on Monday, March 1.

Two days earlier a 24-year-old man from Pacific Paradise on the Sunshine Coast also blew over the limit after being caught speeding on Dickson Way, Point Lookout about 4pm.
Police say he was travelling at 69km/h in a 50km/h zone and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.072.
He was issued an infringement notice for the speeding and is due in Cleveland Magistrates Court on March 8.
Police have also handed out fines in the last week for other traffic offences like motorists failing to come to a standstill at a stop sign and crossing a continuous white line.
Acting Sergeant David Bourke called for motorists to keep an eye out on the roads with wildlife on the move.
" ... Police have had the unfortunate job of euthanising wildlife due to vehicles not paying attention on the roads," he said.
"These poor animals are euthanised to prevent any further suffering."
