CLEVELAND District State High School graduates Eden Gorell and Rishen Krishna have been rewarded for outstanding academic results during their senior year.
Ms Gorell received the school's ATAR dux and Mr Krishna the International Baccalaureate program dux during the school's annual badge ceremony on Thursday.
The senior leaders for 2021 also were announced, with Lachlan Forno, Charlie Fairbairn, Tiana-Lea Adamson and Olivia Chissell named school captains.
Other leadership positions went to Richard Qin, Alex Macnamara, Gurkirt Singh and Limkyung Choi.
Deputy principal Karen Abraham praised both the dux award winners for the hard work during their senior year.
She said Ms Gorell had achieved impressive results across English, maths, biology, health, physical education and Japanese.
"Eden is a wonderful example of a very well-rounded student," Ms Abraham said.
"(She) is a wonderful example of a student who worked hard to be the best she could be across all areas of her school life.
"We are very proud of her efforts and look forward to seeing her achieve great things in the future."
Mr Krishna - who was school captain in 2020 - studied six subjects in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
He has been awarded the Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship to study a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Griffith University.
Ms Abraham said Mr Krishna had also been accepted into the university's honours college, a program for high achieving students which would help him develop things like his leadership and communication skills.
"This is an outstanding achievement and we congratulate Rishen on his success," she said.
"Rishen is a wonderful example of a student who works hard, accepts all responsibilities and challenges that come his way and maintains a very approachable manner to his peers and teachers."
Universities offered credits, exemptions and scholarships to students who gained a diploma through the International Baccalaureate program.
