MORE than 100 guests enjoyed cocktails galore and special appearances by Sean Connery, Hugh Jackman, Wonder Woman and Marilyn Monroe at the Redlands Centre for Women's inaugural International Women's Day cocktail party on Friday.
The party, held at the Redlands RSL, also featured entertainment by musical duo The MJayz and magician Steven Black.
It was a departure from previous years, when the centre has hosted a high tea to mark International Women's Day.
This year's event saw guests dressed to the nines to enjoy canapes and a special cocktail menu, as well as taking photos with life-size cardboard cutouts of celebrities and superheroes.
Redlands Centre for Women president Liz Manricks said the theme of this year's International Women's Day was choose to challenge.
"(It) is an interesting theme considering the challenges we've all faced during the past 12 months, coping with COVID and the ongoing problems," she said.
"The Redlands Centre for Women will embrace this theme ... as an organisation that endeavours to enhance the lives of women in the Redlands throughout our fundamental values of knowledge, support and friendship."
