ROGI's April meeting has been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Redland Organic Growers Inc president Jill Nixon said members normally met on the second Thursday of each month at Alexandra Hills Bayside Community Church.
She said ROGI had about 200 members and was growing, with many people aspiring to be more self-sufficient, especially in such trying times.
" I think that in many of us there is an urge to be able to provide for ourselves - to hark back to a simpler, stress-free existence," she said.
"From speaking with many people about this, I have concluded that many are going down this road to have some control over their own food."
They know what's gone into the production of it, and what's been left out.
"There seems to be something innately attractive about the pastoral ideal of a house on a piece of fertile land where we can grow our own food, put aside the surplus for the off' season and be prepared should the worst happen ... whatever that may be."

Membership also allows access to book various workshops, garden visits and borrowing from the well-stocked library of organic gardening books.
