TWO patrons were evicted from the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel earlier this month after failing to comply with mask rules put in place during the greater Brisbane lockdown.
Police attended the venue on Saturday, April 3 and spoke with staff who allegedly ejected the patrons from the venue due to their poor behaviour.
It is alleged the patrons failed to comply with the mask mandate, which remains in place until April 15.
A man involved in the incident was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Masks must be worn in indoor spaces like shopping centres, churches, libraries and on public transport.
It is also strongly recommended that masks be worn outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained.
The maximum penalty for not complying with the mandate is six months imprisonment or a $13,345 fine.
Masks were made mandatory during the greater Brisbane lockdown, which was sparked by two COVID clusters linked to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.
