A MAN at the centre of a seven hour police standoff at a private residence on Finucane Road has been taken to hospital.
The 58-year-old man was taken into custody about 4.50pm on Monday, a few hours after police made an emergency declaration and closed off parts of Capalaba for reasons of public safety.
The incident was resolved peacefully through negotiation.
More information on the matter could not be revealed at this stage, although police would be launching follow-up investigations.

Police were called to the property about 9.30am and set up an exclusion zone shortly after midday.
The area included Ingham Street, north along Abelia Street to Remita Court and across Valentine Park to Willard Road.
Police, ambulance and fire and emergency services were on scene.
No one was harmed during the incident.
