REDLANDS Rays Kevin Stone and Adam Griffith were the major award winners taking out the coveted senior perpetual club trophies at Saturday night's hugely successful senior awards dinner.
Griffith was awarded batter of the year while Stone was awarded Rays Senior Club Member of the Year, adding to the family accolades after daughter Alyssa took home the Junior Club Member of the Year.
The entire Stone family were named Rays family of the year for their contribution to the club both on and off the field.
This year's Club Coach of the Year was taken out by junior coach Dean Ainsworth.
Two of Rays' life members and players were also recognized for their loyalty to the club.
Athol Cunningham was recognized for 30 years of loyal service and 400 games played for Rays, while Stephen Schneider received his plaque for having played 600 games for Redlands.
The club also held a successful sausage sizzle at Bunnings Warehouse on Sunday and the committee would like to thank all Rays members who volunteered their time to help at the barbecue throughout the day.
With the 2020/21 season now over, Rays senior players have signed up for the annual South Queensland Winter Baseball League, which will commence in May and finish in August.
SQWBL welcomes both men and women baseballers and has grown in popularity since its inception in 2009.
With the Masters state titles scheduled to be held on the Gold Coast on the Anzac Day long weekend, Redlands Rays are finalising a team to compete in the competition.
The annual Masters championships are conducted in three age groups, over 35, over 45 and over 55, and this competition is also growing in popularity in the greater Brisbane area.
Redlands juniors are prominent throughout the Brisbane South teams who will be attending the annual Timberjacks friendship tournament at Lismore starting on July 6, with over thirty players in Little League division one and two and junior league teams.
These teams are currently being finalized prior to commencing training.
