REDLAND-Victoria Point Sharks kicked 16 goals on their way to a comfortable victory over Palm Beach Currumbin during their first home game of the QAFL season on Saturday.
More than a thousand spectators, including a contingent of the club's former players, turned out at Victoria Point's Totally Workwear Park to see the Sharks earn a comfortable 60-point win.
The senior ladies team also notched up a victory, with captain Kayla Milne leading from the front to bag three goals in a best on ground performance.

Earlier in the day an injury-hit colts side went down 116-13, while the men's development team were also on the wrong end of the result in their clash with Palm Beach Currumbin.
Football manager Nic Aldridge said the biggest highlight of the day was seeing a big turn out of former players and officials.
"We had premiership players from the 1980s, the 1990s and 2010s," he said.
"The car park was chock-a-block and the far side of the ground was (filled) with cars and families.
"It was the first time we've had the footy club back on our home deck in 10 months.
"It was a massive build up to see us back there. It was just a special day, a historical day.
"To have the support we did from the community, I can see it building from here."
Victoria Point Sharks and Redland Bombers joined forces after the NEAFL competition was scrapped last year.
The senior men's team won their opening game of the season against Surfers Paradise by a 58-point margin before falling to Labrador the following week.
Thomas Salter won the Corporal Cameron Baird VCMG Medal for his stand-out performance on Saturday after racking up 30 possessions.
"That medal is awarded to the player who exemplifies the Anzac spirit, so self sacrifice, mateship and courage," Aldridge said.
"To beat Palm Beach, who are a really strong QAFL club, was really pleasing. It shows us we are on the right track for where we are at this point."
Saturday was also a special occasion for Sharks co-captain Scott Miller, who celebrated his 100th game to mark the club's return home despite achieving the milestone last season.
The senior women's team played the day's final game, downing Moreton Bay by 10 goals.
"It's the first time we've had a senior women's team since 2006, so it was really special," Aldridge said.
"They played straight after the men, so we had a host of juniors come along and the senior men formed a guard of honour for the girls as they came out."
The Sharks held Moreton Bay to just a single goal through four quarters, as seven different players got their name on the scoresheet for the home side.
