AN old garage has been transformed into a second-hand boutique, raising funds to support young people across the Redlands.
The Button Jar Collective, an initiative of The Cage Youth Foundation, sells pre-loved clothing, accessories and gifts.
The boutique was formerly a six car garage, refurbished with funding from the Redland Foundation and Red Truck Roofing.
The Cage Youth Foundation's founding director Linda Grieve said the Button Jar Collective would support local youth.
"This social enterprise initiative will bring another income stream into The Cage assisting with youth worker and counselling staff as they provide the support services both onsite and within local schools," she said.
Clothing and accessories are donated by community members, with some items on consignment from local small businesses.
"The support by way of donations has been wonderful," Ms Grieve said.
Visitors can also pick up a coffee or juice from the onsite container cafe, Ziggys.
Ms Grieve said the initiative was about locals supporting locals and supporting a circular economy.
"You never know what you might find in a button jar," she said.
The Cage Youth Foundation is on German Church Road, Redland Bay.
