HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED sitcom Young Rock, which chronicles the life of actor and wrestling icon Dwayne Johnson, aired for the first time on Australian television this week.
Filmed across parts of Queensland, including the Redlands, the comedy made its first appearance on Sunday night.
Cleveland, Capalaba and Wynnum were used as shooting locations for the comedy, which stars three actors in the lead role of Dwayne Johnson.
The show, produced by NBC, rates 6.9 stars on film website Internet Movie Database and earns an audience score of 88 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes.
It has been renewed for a second season, with several episodes having aired in the United States since February.
Johnson sent out a message on social media last year, thanking Australian cast and crew as well as directors for their work on the project.
"All the ups and downs, the crazy stories that have accumulated over the years, this series Young Rock is going to showcase all of them," he said.
Film crews visited Capalaba in October, with scenes shot at Dollery Road and Lorraine Street.
Raby Bay's Foreshore Park and Cleveland's Sentinel Court also were used.
The series airs on pay television every Sunday night at 6.30pm.
It comes as action and adventure movie Love and Monsters, which was shot at Mount Cotton and Alexandra Hills, earns good reviews.
The film, which rates seven stars on IMDB, was released on Australian Netflix last month after debuting in the US last year.
