NATIONALLY acclaimed duo Bird will headline the Folk Redlands concert at Victoria Point Bowls and Recreation Club on Sunday, May 16.
The band, formerly named The Awesome, consists of award-winning songwriter Milena Cifali and bassist Jim Horvath.
The pair have performed at the National Folk Festival, Cobargo Folk Festival, Alice Springs Beanie Festival, Tilba Festival and Merimbula Jazz Festival.
Bird are now based in Brisbane, having moved this year after losing their Mallacoota home in the in the Black Summer bushfires.
Folk Redlands, a monthly event, will kick-off with blackboard performances where musicians of all skill levels are invited to take to the stage in front of the club's supportive audience.
Those wanting to perform are encouraged to arrive early and register their interest at the front desk on arrival.
Entry to the event is free, although donations to the club are encouraged.
Folk Redlands has been been supporting the local music scene and providing performance opportunities for up-and-coming artists since 2005.
This month's event will run from 1pm to 4pm.
Victoria Point Bowls and Recreation Club is located at 3 Poinciana Avenue, Victoria Point.
