REDLANDS politicians have rolled up their sleeves for their COVID-19 vaccinations as they urge anyone eligible to do the same.
It comes as no new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Queensland today after a Victorian couple entered the state while infected with the virus earlier this week.
Federal MP Andrew Laming had his first Astrazeneca vaccination on May 28 at a Cleveland doctor and said it did not hurt a bit.
"I encourage everyone who is holding back to do the right thing and help us raise COVID immunisation levels as fast as possible," he said.
Labor Bowman candidate Donisha Duff who works in the healthcare sector has already received both jabs. She urged residents to get vaccinated and stay safe.
"As a health leader, we need to demonstrate the importance of keeping our families, friends and communities safe," she said on Facebook.
Capalaba MP Don Brown said he had registered for the jab with Queensland Health.
Redlands MP Kim Richards will get her first dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine on 22 June with Dr Bruce Willett in Victoria Point.
Oodgeroo MP Mark Robinson said he had booked with his family doctor for his first AstraZeneca shot.
Vaccination clinics are open to over 50s at the Redland Hospital from 8am-4pm, Wynnum Manly Community Health Centre from 8.30am-3.30pm, and the Logan Hospital clinic is open to all ages from 8am-4pm.
Logan Entertainment Centre is open as a weekend clinic for COVID-19 jabs.
Queenslanders wanting to get vaccinations should book online or call 134 COVID.
