INDIGENOUS artwork will feature on walls, travellators and furniture when refurbishments are completed at Cleveland Central Shopping Centre.
Quandamooka woman Delvene Cockatoo-Collins has also inspired designs for new ceiling features, which will make up part of upgrades to the centre's north building where Coles is situated.
Refurbishment work - which will include new seating, lighting, fittings and furnishings - started in May and is expected to be finished by late June.
Centre manager Korina Krucican said connection to the land and traditional owners would be central to the refresh.
"We're excited to create a beautiful space for the community that showcases the local environment, lands and waters - the essence of Cleveland," she said.
Upgrades will be made outside of trading hours, meaning minimal disruptions for customers.
All stores, including Coles and Australia Post, will remain open during the refurbishment.
Ms Krucican said the refurbishment would support local businesses, with furniture to be sourced from local suppliers.
"The centre was in need of an upgrade," she said. "We wanted to modernise and upgrade our facilities to provide a better experience for our shoppers."
Cleveland Central Shopping Centre, owned by Haben Property Fund, is located off Middle Street.
