Three new clubhouses, 16 sporting fields, cycling and BMX tracks and recreation facilities are part of a new sports precinct at Mount Cotton.
The Redlands Coast Regional Sport and Recreation Precinct will be home to Redlands Touch Association, Redlands Rugby League, Redlands BMX and Redland Cycling and Multisport Club.
Council confirmed the primary tenants of the massive 101 hectare site at Heinemann Road, of which 47 hectares will be go to sport and recreation facilities and activities.
The site will provide the area with more sporting fields, bike tracks and clubhouses, and community recreation and conservation space.
Last year the Redlands Rugby League complained about leaving their Pinklands Sporting Complex home at Thornlands for Mount Cotton.
At the new venue, the club will have a two-storey clubhouse, with the lower level boasting six change rooms for male and female teams and an upper level with grandstand seating and space.
There will be three fields allocated to the club, up from two at Pinklands.
Mayor Karen Williams said the facility would also allow other clubs like netball - one of the largest membership sports competitions in Redlands - the opportunity to expand at Pinklands.
It would potentially give more space for sports like basketball and gymnastics at Capalaba, and free up the Cleveland Showgrounds for events.
"This is not about catering for one or two sports, but for many," she said.
Cr Julie Talty said the Redlands Touch Association would have a new clubhouse with grandstand seating, and13 fields - up from eight.
Redlands Touch Association vic president Rick Lester said the club had about 3000 members and operated most nights.
"Friday nights we are already at full capacity, so we are excited to have a purpose built facility to co-tenant. It will will help us facilitate bigger tournaments and give us a better branded product to attract other members from other regions," he said.
Redlands BMX Club president Jamie Gard said the site would help develop athletes.
He said their old track had outdated facilities.

Cr Talty said Redlands Cycling and Multisport Club was previously without a home and would share the 1.2km long criterium track and the clubhouse with the BMX club.
"For Redlands BMX, the new state-level track and multi-building clubhouse will present opportunities for the club and its growing membership to be involved in state events while providing training space for national and international championships," said Cr Talty.
Construction is expected to start in 2022-2023 subject to funding.
