POLICE have led searches of North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Bay after a flare kit was found floating in the water on Tuesday.
HELP: The flare kit found floating in the water at Moreton Bay. Police are searching for its owner.
No reports of a missing person or vessels have been reported but police are urging people with information, or who may have lost the kit, to come forward.
Brisbane Water Police have been leading a water and air search of the South Passage and Moreton Bay area.

A member of the public located the flare kit floating in the trawler break about 3pm on Tuesday.
Police say it does not appear as though any flares have been used.
