REDLAND City Council general meetings may be open for public participation, but the public gallery has been closed since the end of March.
A council spokesperson said the council chamber had been set up at its maximum capacity, as per state government health directives.
Social distancing rules advise people to stay at least 1.5 metres away from each other.
"For this reason, and to protect the health and safety of our community, the public gallery remains closed.
"Council will review the situation as necessary and in line with state government health directives," she said.
Audio and video recordings will continue to be made available on council's website as soon as practicable after each general meeting.
Council reopened its doors for public participation at general meetings in May, with three five-minute sessions being allocated to three separate speakers.
