A 16-year-old boy who stalled his motorbike while trying to flee police on North Stradbroke Island has been dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
Police tried to intercept the bike - which had no registration plates - while patrolling George Nothling Drive at Point Lookout just after midday on Tuesday, July 6.
The teenager foiled his own escape when he stalled the bike while trying to speed off down a dirt track.
He faced charges relating to traffic offences and evading police.
Sergeant Darren Scanlan said the incident came amid a concerning rise in motorcycle rider fatalities in Queensland.

"We have had a couple of trail bike crashes recently involving young people," he said.
"You are not bulletproof. Do not make stupid decisions."
Man uninjured despite rolling car
AN elderly Dunwich man walked away uninjured from a single-vehicle crash at Point Lookout last week despite his car flipping and ending up in bushland.
Sergeant Scalan said it was the third crash in as many months on Beehive Road.
Police were called to the crash at 8.15pm on Friday, July 9.
The 76-year-old had been driving towards Amity when his car, a Toyota Hilux, left the road, spun 180 degrees and flipped on its side.
It came to rest in bushland on the opposite side of the road.
"No matter how many times you have driven that road, you must always drive to the conditions," Sergeant Scanlan said.
"Importantly, if you are involved in a crash, call triple zero and let them know you are safe.
"It is not pleasant for emergency services who are at the scene, searching bushland fearing someone has been ejected and laying injured, to find out an hour or two later that the occupants are sitting at home."
Police also issued 14 traffic infringements in the past week for things like speeding, parking offences and motorists not wearing seatbelts.
Sergeant Scanlan said some people were deliberately flouting laws and parking wherever they pleased.
"Trailer bays are for those vehicles with trailers attached," he said.
"Disabled parking bays are for those who have disability permits. It is not rocket science."
Drug charges laid at Dunwich
A 32-year-old Dunwich woman is due in court this month after being charged with drug offences.
Police found the woman in possession of cannabis and a drug utensil after being called to a disturbance at One Mile on Saturday afternoon.
She will appear in Cleveland Magistrates Court later this month.
