Members of the Old SchoolHouse Gallery, artist May Sheppard and photographer Phil Robinson, are joined by timber craftsman Ben Warner in an exhibition from the 5th until the 29th August at the Old SchoolHouse Gallery, Cleveland Point.
"Life From the Earth" Exhibition is inspired by the parks and conservation areas around Redlands Coast - with beauty around them including birds and other wildlife.
May, a life-long painter, formally trained at the University of Fine Arts in New Zealand, paints landscapes and birds mainly in acrylics. She loves to create the essence of distant views, capturing the way light interacts with the landscape and nature.
Phil developed as a creative photographer, with admirers loving his photographs as 'paintings'. He mainly photographs birds and landscapes - around the Redlands Coast. Phil has published a small non 'formal' reference book reflecting the enjoyment he gets from creatures he candidly photographs around Redlands Coast.
Ben attended Ealing Art College in London before coming to Australia. His crafted from scratch, 100 % recycled timber works, include 2D wall hangings with inlays and pyrography, decorating wood using a heated poker. He crafts playable music instruments, such balalaikas and harps.
Exhibition Opening is 7th August, 5-7pm. All welcome. Gallery hours are Thursday-Sunday and public holidays from 9.30am to 4.30pm. The Old SchoolHouse Gallery is at Cleveland Point. Entry is free and there is off-street parking and disabled access. Come and visit and enjoy.
