A BITTERLY cold morning is predicted for south-east Queensland tomorrow, with Redlands and Logan to shiver through single figure temperatures and Beaudesert tipped to hit zero.
The Weather Bureau is also predicting widespread frost across the southern half of the state in the morning, particularly for inland locations.
A low of zero degrees is forecast for Beaudesert, which is a drop of about 6 degrees on the July average minimum temperature.
It will start a run of single figure mornings, with a minimum of four degrees forecast for Monday and Tuesday next week.
Logan is also in for chilly conditions, with the mercury tipped to plummet as low as 2 degrees tomorrow and 6 degrees on Friday.
Temperatures in coastal Redlands are expected to drop to 5 degrees tomorrow and 9 degrees on Friday, but it will be warmer during the days with maximums of about 20 degrees predicted.
If the mercury in Redlands and Logan does drop as expected, both will register temperatures a few degrees below the average July minimum.
Meteorologist Rosa Hoff said there would be a reprieve from the cold weather on Friday.
"Temperatures are going to warm back to average or near average conditions during the day from tomorrow," she said.
"While we are going to have quite a cool morning, temperatures will recover quickly and we will be in for a much warmer night come Friday."
Windy conditions experienced in the south-east today would ease back this afternoon but would return on Friday and Saturday.
"A trough - which will move across Queensland from Thursday and into Friday - is going to increase the chances of a shower, mostly about the southern interior," Ms Hoff said.
"This will be fairly sparse and fairly quick. We are only expecting to see about 10mm or less."
