Henry Pike was officially endorsed as the LNP's candidate for the federal seat of Bowman at a meeting of the party's state executive on Friday.
It comes after a disputes committee launched an investigation following a stormy preselection due to party infighting.
Mr Pike has been picked to replace Andrew Laming.
He was the only male candidate in the running, up against Redland mayor Karen Williams, barrister Margaret Forrest, Fiona Ward and Gold Coaster Fran Ward.
An internal inquiry was launched after supporters allegedly connected to Mr Pike's campaign had encouraged one of the candidates to withdraw from the race.
A party source said the executive voted to endorse Mr Pike after the disputes committee investigation found no negative findings.
Mr Pike said he could not comment on the investigation but had previously described it as sour grapes by people disappointed with his pre-selection.
It is expected Australians might go to the polls in March or April next year.
