Wellington Point Reserve, Thornlands Community Park, Cleveland Point Recreation Reserve and Straddie's Cylinder Beach Foreshore are among the parks earmarked to get temporary businesses and activities.
Depending on the size and shape of the park, the number of commercial vendors is capped at between one and three.
Mayor Karen Williams said council was accepting expressions of interest for temporary commercial activities for a select group of parks and open spaces.
"This is only for those parks selected where temporary commercial activities could be offered without impacting the amenity and safety of park users and neighbours," she said.
Cr Williams said commercial vendors that complemented nearby businesses by offering a different product or service were preferred.
Food and beverage retailers need to have a separation distance of 200 metres from any centre or mixed use zone.
"Temporary commercial activities are generally of a low-scale, and are restricted to a footprint of 30 square metres.
"Activating our parks and public spaces creates vibrant, liveable communities as well as opportunities for local businesses," she said.
The certificate of approval is valid up to 12 months and an expression of interest process will occur every three years.
Expressions of interest closes (Round 1) on October 28.
