The Redland's Creative Alliance has its fourth exhibition in November and December at Redland Museum's Dunn Wing Gallery. It opens on November 5.
Entitled Summer, the exhibition features the current season.
Artist members were asked to illustrate what they do in summer, the colours and 'feel' of summer, flowers, blue sky landscapes and lovely places to visit. The works feature acrylic, oil, watercolour and mixed media paintings, enamelling, photography, and a wide variety of subject matter.
Visitors are asked to cast their votes for the people's choice which attracts a prize of $150 and a $50 framing voucher from Kuhl Picture Framing.
The Museum and Gallery are open from 10am to 3.30pm every day, except for Christmas and New Year. The museum closes from December 23 to January 4 with the exhibition closing on January 7.
Redland's Creative Alliance Inc. is a not for profit group, based online. Where possible it exhibits in local spaces, exposing the work of more local artists to the public.
The alliance serves to broaden public awareness of arts and culture and promote the arts within the Redlands and South East Queensland.
A unique feature of Redland Museum is its changing exhibitions. A new major exhibition is mounted in a 100 square meter dedicated galley every six to eight weeks. These major exhibitions are drawn from the Museum's reserve collection, or from the works and collections of local artists or community organization such as Redlands Creative Alliance.
