AN alert has been issued after a COVID-19 infected person visited a Thai restaurant in Capalaba on Monday, November 29.
Authorities want anyone who visited the restaurant as well as Capalaba Park shopping centre to come forward for testing.
A COVID-infected person visited the Sit at Siam Thai Restaurant - regarded as a close contact venue - with the other sites regarded as low risk.
Capalaba MP Don Brown urged people who had been at the exposure sites to come forward.
"Now is the chance to get vaccinated," he said.
Mr Brown also called for a vaccine mandate rally on Sunday, organised by federal MP Andrew Laming, to be cancelled.
"It would be completely irresponsible to have a rally with COVID-19 in the Redlands at the moment.
"I have seen similar cases at anti-vaxxer rallys in Melbourne where 36 cases were recorded ... we don't want a super spreader event in the Redlands," he said.
Mr Laming will lead a vaccine mandate rally at Cleveland on Sunday at 9am
He is calling for greater debate and more information on evidence behind vaccine mandates.
"I follow all medical advice and I'm not taking advice from a politician," he said.
Mr Laming urged people to come forward and get tested if they had been at any of the contact sites.
"The restaurant would have a high level of checking in for tracing. We are lucky it (exposure site) been identified as just one location in the Redlands," he said.
He said the rally on Sunday would call for the release of public health evidence behind the vaccine mandate.
"The rally will provide people with public health and legal advice to try and support people who face losing their jobs," he said.
Redlands has the second highest first-vaccination rate among councils in Queensland with 93.3 percent having had one jab, while 83.8 percent fully vaccinated.
