A spectacular waterfront mansion at Raby Bay has broken a record for the most expensive bayside property ever sold.
The 2327 square metre block at Sentinel Court, Raby Bay was sold for a whopping $8.5 million in June of 2021.
The second highest selling bayside property sold for $8.1 million more than a decade ago.
Designed by Australian musician Daniel Jones of Savage Garden 14 years ago, the property went to auction with six registered bidders.
It was snapped up for the record breaking price after 48 days on the market.
McGrath Bayside director Pamela Neilson who sold the property said it was one of a kind in the area.
"There really is no comparison to this property, most of the homes along there are of an older vintage than this one and their land sizes are not as big," Ms Neilson said.
"It is one of the largest blocks on the beach front and the views are absolutely spectacular.
"It was designed to wrap around the beaches, and every single bedroom and living area faces Moreton Bay."
Ms Neilson said 2021 had been a record year for a lot of Eastern states in Australia, as buyers start to better appreciate bayside living.
"I've always believed that the Brisbane Bayside is the most undervalued piece of real estate on the eastern seaboard," she said.
"I think people are starting to become a lot more aware of it and realising that it is a lifestyle second to none."
She said she did not think more waterfront properties in the area would hit the market any time soon.
"The biggest problem we have with waterfrontage properties here at Raby Bay, Wellington point and Ormiston is there's not really anywhere to go from here, they are already living in utopia," Ms Neilson said.
Ms Neilson said the interest was not only coming from locals, but also from people interstate and overseas, a trend she expected to continue over the next 12 months.
"It's going to be a very interesting year ahead and I think nobody is going to be disappointed with the market we are entering into for 2022."
