A MOUNT Cotton poultry farmer has been recognised by the state government for outstanding rehabilitation and return to work practices.
The Darwalla Group picked up two of ten gongs handed out at the Safe Work and Return to Work awards ceremony, hosted at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre on Wednesday, October 18.
The company took out the categories “best demonstrated leadership in return to work” and “best rehabilitation and return to work management system”.
Employment and Industrial Relations minister Grace Grace said the awards helped to acknowledge outstanding examples of workplace safety and excellence in getting injured workers back to meaningful duties quickly.
“These people and businesses are making a real difference and that’s why we are sharing their stories,” she said.
“We hope that the outstanding efforts of this year’s winners inspire and motivate others to follow suit.”
The Darwalla Group had also been nominated as an Australian Training Awards employer of the year finalist, with the national winner to be announced next month.
