CLEVELAND Aquatic Centre closed its doors yesterday afternoon after the death of an elderly man.
It is understood the 77-year-old, who was in the water, could not be revived.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed paramedics tried to help the patient but no hospital transport was required.

Redland City Council were contacted for a response but declined to comment.
Cleveland police said the cause of the man’s death would be determined by a coroner but was not considered suspicious.
The pool has re-opened today.
