TORONTO Tidy Towns will install four state-of-the-art recycling bins on The Boulevarde thanks to an $8500 grant. The grant is part of the Keep Australia Beautiful Beverage Container Recycling project and will complement existing bins in the Regatta Walk Park. Keep Australia Beautiful NSW chief executive David Imrie said the lack of recycling bins in public places can be a barrier to recycling. Toronto Tidy Towns chairwoman Kelly Hoare said she expected the project to achieve a significant reduction in the number of bottles and cans ending up in landfill, simply by increasing the opportunity for people to recycle. "Having prominent recycling bins for the community not only encourages people to do the right thing while they are out, it reinforces the habit of recycling at home and at other locations," she said.
