Redlands Bayside Masters Swimming Club head coach Alan Patterson, and Bruce Watt, followed through on the club's success at the recent Queensland State Championships.
Bruce took silver in the 50metre freestyle and 50m breaststroke events, while Alan brought home silver in the 200m freestyle and bronze in both the 50m freestyle and breaststroke events.
Bruce had been training on his own for several months when he decided to enter the national championships, so he joined the Redlands Masters Club a few months ago.
The national event was his first competitive swim since being at school 35 years ago.
Alan bagged eight medals at the State Championships.
He is vice-president of Masters Swimming Queensland and, as the club's head coach, has a dedicated team of three who operate an active coaching program at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre.
Masters Swimming is open to anyone aged over 18 years. The club can help master your confidence, strokes, efficiency and fitness.
New or established swimmers all benefit from the friendly support and can participate in competitive pool, open water and triathlon events, as well as choose only fitness and well-being as their goals.
Anyone interested in joining can contact Alan on 0412 143 742 or email: ducks8@bigpond.com
