Lauren's great great great uncle was killed in action in World War I and is buried in Armentieres, in Northern France.
While the students are on tour, they will visit his grave site, where they will hold a small ceremony and play a hymn, with Lauren, a trumpeter, playing The Last Post.
Lauren said she was honoured to be representing her country and the men and women who served in its armed forces.
"Anzac Day has always been a very sacred day for me," she said.
"Mum and Dad would always take me into the city to watch my grandfather, Marx Folster, march in the parade.
"I would sit high on my dad's shoulders, waving my flag and cheering as loud as I could.
"We would stand near City Hall, waiting for the red and blue banner to make its way down Adelaide Street.
"Granddad served in two tours of Vietnam; he was an engineer."
Lauren called Anzac Day her "grandfather's day" and said he used to spend it with his mates and remember "the men who didn't make it home".
"Both my mum's and dad's sides of the family had relations who served in the First World War, Second World War and Granddad in Vietnam," she said.
"Sadly, Grandad passed away last year from bone cancer.
"He knew I was going to France and somehow I know he will be watching over me."
