The first corner on the Surfers Paradise track is not the place to be for a lizard.
Time to make a move towards the fence.
A track official tries to convince the lizard to go elsewhere.
The chase is on
and keeps going on.
an escape road in sight...
off track.. but still centre of attention.
..now for the final scuttle past race fans.
The question is.. why did the lizard cross the race track?
Luckily, the on-track action had finished for the moment, so the confused reptile eventually strutted towards the tyre barrier. With no way of escaping, track officials were able to 'shoo away' the frightened lizard along the fence line to the track escape road.
The last sign of the lucky pedestrian was scurrying off to a rare vacant block of land.
