ONE hundred and seventy Redland residents from 27 countries were welcomed as Australian citizens on Sunday.
Nations represented at the Australia Day ceremony in Cleveland included Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Fiji, Finland, France, Hungary, India, Japan, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Republic of South Africa, Russian Federation, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States of America and Vietnam.
Redland City Mayor Karen Williams said the Redlands was proud of its multicultural character.
"Each year on Australia Day, we come together to celebrate what makes our nation great and what better way to celebrate than becoming a citizen of this great country," she said.
