TENSIONS have been running high in the local LNP State Electorate Council branch after Cleveland MP Mark Robinson's office manager, Mark Neville, unsuccessfully nominated for the position held by Peter Dowling.

Nominations for LNP pre-selection for the seat of Redlands closed on September 12 but it is still unknown how many applicants other than Mr Dowling and Mr Neville nominated.
Mr Dowling's brother-in-law, Redland City councillor Lance Hewlett, rumoured to have also applied, has said he would not contest the seat.
Mr Neville, an aspiring politician, threw his hat into the ring along with Mr Dowling, who has held the seat since 2009.
On Monday, Mr Neville remained tight-lipped about his nomination saying only it was LNP policy not to comment before candidates were announced.
The seat has been a focal point in the party since Mr Dowling was involved in a 2013 text message scandal in which he photographed his penis in a glass of red wine and sent it to his lover.
Mr Dowling denied there was tension within the local SEC and said membership was strong and broad based, bringing together members from former National and Liberal parties.
