Queensland Bulls have recalled Redlands batsman Greg Moller and allrounder Michael Neser for this weekend’s day/night Bupa Sheffield Shield match against Western Australia at the WACA in the wake of their opening round loss to South Australia earlier this week.
Neser completed a successful return from a broken finger this week for the Queensland Academy of Sport in its Toyota Futures League match against NSW and comes into the Bulls squad for leg-spinner Ryan Le Loux.
Moller, 31, was not contracted by the Bulls for the 2014-15 season after playing three Shield games last summer before a knee injury wrecked his season.
The right-handed top order batsman replaces Ben McDermott who made his first class debut for Queensland last week.
Moller, who works as a batting coach at Gregory Terrace, is coming off a superb 233 not out off 266 balls for Redlands as he and Queensland Under-19 batsman Sam Heazlett (110) put on a stand of 237 for the second wicket against Sandgate-Redcliffe.
He scored his maiden first class century against the Warriors at the Gabba in 2012-13.
The Shield game starting on Saturday at the WACA will be played with pink balls as was the case last season when the Gabba hosted a day/night first class game.
The Bulls remained in Adelaide after their eight-wicket loss to the Redbacks and will travel to Perth on Friday.
The game will start at 1.30pm Perth time, which is 3.30pm Brisbane time.
