MATT McEachan has been named as the new Member for Redlands winning with 43.86 per cent of the primary vote.
The once blue-ribbon LNP seat of Redlands was one of the last five seats to be declared after last month's state election.
The final result was made public just after at 12.30pm on Friday.
Counting in the seat at 10.35am on Friday was at 91.52 per cent with the LNP's Matt McEachan holding 43.86 per cent of the primary vote followed by the ALP's Debbie Kellie on 34.33 per cent.
Returning officer for the seat Robin Spann said the hold up was due to the sheer workload allocating preferences for six candidates.
He said there had also been a lot of pre-poll votes which were up to him to count.
Mr Spann said the Electoral Commission of Queensland was not reviewing the seat or the way votes were counted.
He said there would be an outcome for the seat by Friday afternoon.
ECQ was put on notice when Independent candidate Sheena Hewlett lodged a complaint last week.
She complained about mistakes ECQ made in registering and approving her How to Vote cards, which resulted in a Supreme Court injunction barring her from handing the cards out on election day.
"I have challenged the ECQ for mistakes made jeopardising my electoral rights and I have called for a review of how my How to Vote cards were approved."
Mrs Hewlett said she was surprised the court injunction came after a complaint was lodged by her opponent, the LNP candidate Matt McEachan.
Problems started in the embattled seat when sitting MP Peter Dowling lost his pre-selection bid amid claims the LNP executive stacked the branch vote.
Mr Dowling held the seat with a 22 per cent margin, which is likely to be slashed to a 1.5 per cent margin.
