Redland Museum will hold a family fun day on Sunday, April 19 from 10am to 3.30pm and is inviting everyone in the community and beyond to attend.
Museum secretary Annabelle Alexander said the family fun day was a great way to introduce people to the museum.
"The museum is a bit of a hidden treasure," she said.
"It is a fantastic local secret and if you haven't been here before, you can come along and see what's old and new."
She said there would be displays on the day to suit all ages and interests.
"We have got all sorts of demonstrations that will be happening throughout the day, "she said.
"There will be metal work displays and lace making, spinning yarn and a blacksmith shop, as well as steam trains and model trains."
There would be a toy hall of fame display for the children to see.
"It is filled with iconic stuff that our grandparents would remember playing with," she said.
Entry fee to the museum, at 60 Smith Street, Cleveland, is $5 for an adult, $4 for concession holders, $1 for children (school age), $10 for a family.
