STUDENTS from St Luke's Catholic Primary School in Capalaba celebrated Harmony Day by taking part in a school walkathon.
The event began with the year 6 students leading a school assembly in prayer before the prep to year 2 students formed a guard of honour that kicked off the walkathon.
Years 3 to 6 students then walked around the new school oval and continued out of the school grounds to Capalaba Regional Park.
Acting deputy principal Lagi Aukusitino said it was good to see the presence of local traffic officers and parents along Mount Cotton Road.
"A number of parents and family members walked with the students on the day and they also had grandparents waving them along the route," she said.
"It was a wonderful day of community and partnership."
Ms Aukusitino said teachers also created posters depicting harmony.
"These were displayed along the oval and throughout the school,"
"The students also carried images of harmony during their walk.
"It was great way to support Caritas Australia and Assist-A-Sista this year."
