REDLAND Bay tennis ace Lara Walker has continued her winning streak and was named Junior National Under 13 Champion.
The 12-year-old, who has been a hit on the court since she started tennis at the age of six, fended off tough competition from New South Wales' top players to take out the title at Sydney's Olympic Park.
Walker was seeded No 3 in the tournament.
In her first three matches, she won convincingly and made the semi finals, which was a tough contest against the No 1 seed and run won in a tight three sets before moving into the finals.
Redland Bay tennis coach Tim Low said Walker played some of her best tennis to win the final 6-1 6-3.
"She was the only player from Queensland to win a junior singles title out of the three age groups of 12, 14 and 16 year olds," he said.
"It is a massive achievement to win a national title and great for her and the Redland Bay tennis club to have such a hard-working junior achieving such results.
"It has been amazing coaching Lara and seeing her grow up from when she first started tennis at the Redland Bay tennis club to now go on to become a national champion."
