Bayside disability service provider Tea-Cup Cottage is hosting a fun Halloween-themed Open Day for its day service, Blue Tongue Adventure.
Designed to assist young adults living with a disability, Blue Tongue Adventure is a weekly program that provides a variety of activities to help develop life skills, make new friends and have fun in a safe and creative environment.
Tea-Cup Cottage Disability Support Services founder Alex Shaw said Blue Tongue sessions are held each Wednesday from 9am to 3pm.
A new five-day program Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm will start on January 11.
She said the Blue Tongue Adventure Open Day would run from midday to 2pm and include a free barbecue and activities for the whole family.
“This is a fun way for families to learn more about the Blue Tongue Adventure programs, which will be starting early next year,” Ms Shaw said.
“The day service is ideal for school leavers with a disability, giving them an opportunity to improve their social participation as well as their confidence in a supportive environment.”
Free activities at the Open Day include music therapy, art therapy, face painting, cupcake decorating, Halloween mask making, woodwork, arts and crafts and henna tattoos.
A barbecue and finger food will be available for families to enjoy.
The Blue Tongue Adventure Open Day will be on Saturday, October 31, from midday to 2pm at Potter’s Nest, 513 Old Cleveland Road East, Birkdale.
