Businesses and residents with security cameras installed are asked to ensure their devices are listed on police databases to help solve crime.
When a crime occurs, police check their database of security cameras to determine if there is footage that could assist the investigation.
Cleveland police have called on residents and business owners who have security cameras installed to ensure they are listed in the database.
If a crime happens near a camera, police contact the home or business owner for footage from around the time of the offence.
The database helps police to quickly identify where cameras are located.
To be included on the database, residents or business owners give their name, address, phone number and details of where the camera is located to police.
The reminder from police follows thieves going on a spree breaking into businesses across Redland City and into Norman Park and Cannon Hill last Tuesday.
Police said it is possible that six incidents may linked.
A Land Rover that had been stolen from Norman Park and was believed to have been involved in the incidents was recovered in Goodna on Friday.
Anyone who has a camera can add it to the database by contacting their local police station or Policelink on 131 444.
