MORE than 70 people were in sync on Saturday when they all got down and did 100 pushups and exercises together as part of a fitness challenge put on by gymnasium P2P Fitstop.
The exercises were part of a Power Players event designed to test the strength and fitness levels of people in Redlands. The winners, international BMX rider Logan Martin and Katie Alice, said the workout was one of the hardest but most enjoyable they had completed.
The winning performances were not the only firsts chalked up at the gym on the weekend. Local businesses from the Lakeside Shopping Centre and Redland Bay, including Harvest cafe, Acai brothers, I love coffee and Red Rooster, have also backed the program along with Red Bull, Flush fitness, Chobani yogurt, Alpha fit and bakbone equipment.
The gym made its name in Victoria Point when it introduced its gruelling six-week challenge two years ago. In that time more than 400 have tested their endurance in the ultimate challenge which targets nutrition, health and fitness.
The business developed from a small operation in the Redlands Business Park to a purpose-built fitness facility at Lakeside.
Gym owner Peter Hull, 28, said the Redland gym sector was competitive and to stand out meant being innovative and trying different marketing ideas.
